SUMMARY:2015 Automotive Management Workshop with BCIT: December 8\, 2015 Supervisory Skills
DESCRIPTION:COURSE DETAILS:\n\nThis workshop is designed for new supervisors or people interested in leadership responsibility.  Participants increase their self-confidence and leadership abilities and establish a foundation for further training in supervision and management. In this workshop the role of the supervisor will be explored and participants will learn the relationship between planning and controlling in organizations.  Through a series of group interaction and experiential activities\, participants will engage in problem solving and decisions making exercises\, as well as delegation exercises. \n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES:\n\nUpon successful completion of the workshop\, the participant will be able to:\n\n	Understand the nature of supervision including the role of a supervisor and the competencies they are expected to possess and use\n	Demonstrate an effective transition from the role of employee to that of a supervisor\n	Achieve productivity through people   identify barriers and solutions to increase productivity\, and describe ways to create and maintain a motivating environment\n	Effectively delegate tasks   describe the steps and conditions necessary for delegation\n	Describe how to deal with the problem employee   identify the steps to deal with a conflict\, and explain how to address typical difficult employee behaviour situations.\n\n\n\n\nAUTOMOTIVE MANAGEMENT STATEMENT OF COMPLETION:\n\n This workshop is part of a series of 10 workshops offered by NCDA & BCIT. Successful completion of 8 of 10 workshops results in a Statement of Completion Award.
